dvhart.com is here to provide information about myself and my projects to the world. Here you will find more about me than you could (should) care about. Probably of more interest to the community are the projects hosted here at dvhart.com. Unless otherwise specified, all the projects here are licensed under the LGPL. Feel free to download, build, test, and abuse any software on this site. I am of course interested in your opinions. Constructive criticism is encouraged and may result in a developer account on the CVS server. Flames and rantings will be quietly forwarded to the proverbial /dev/null.

I am known to the geek community as dvhart, an entirely uncreative nick derived from my full given name, Darren Vincent Hart. I received a BS in Computer Engineering and an MS in Computer Science from Brigham Young University. I currently work for IBM's Linux Technology Center as a Linux kernel developer, and have had four summer internships with Big Blue. Most notably with the Extreme Blue program, and the Linux Technology Center.

I am an avid hobbyist. Never quite satisfied with the current "State of the Art," I am constantly looking for a better way to do things, usually technical things. My projects mostly center around embedded media devices. Some of the most recent include EMMP, libstk, and leeloo. (See the Projects page for more info on those).

I am married and have four computers. We have two dogs, Sadie and Cleo. Other than channelling my brain into computers and remodeling our home, I enjoy small social events, drawing, reading, cooking (chinese, italian), and even some outdoor sports (skiing, volleyball) when I can find the time. My wife and I spend much of our time with our close friends (my accomplice in code and my wife's sympathizer), the Mauerys.

If you have any comments or suggestions in regards to this website or any of the projects hosted here, you can drop me an email at DVHART_EMAIL or try and catch me on IRC (irc.oftc.net) in #linux-coding.
