A crazy month

Well I know I am in trouble with my sister for not posting more this last month. It has been a crazy month and while I have had good intentions to post I just didn't ever feel like spend my limited free time posting. So what has happened in the last month, well lets see...

Trip to Mesquite: At the end of October we made the journey to Mesquite (2 hour plane ride & then 1 hour car ride after getting baggage & car rental - dvh3 was an angel!) My oldest nephew Jordan was speaking in church as he prepared to leave on his mission to The Baltic's (Estonia). My 10 year class reunion also happened to be the same weekend so we had lots to keep us busy. Really glad to have gotten to see a few of my old classmates but I must say I enjoyed the family time most of all. dvh3 got to play with his cousins and was following his new best friend Dayton everywhere.

Pregnancy check-up: Had my 2nd pre-natal appointment. Nothing big just checking the heartbeat, my weight & blood pressure. Devon went with me and was great. He loved getting to hear the baby's heartbeat but was a bit upset that the doctor checked my belly and not his, my awesome doctor obliged him and used the sonogram on his belly too. Everything is great. I weighted in at 110 (put on 5 lbs in a month yeah!), blood pressure was good and the baby's heartbeat was a nice 160 bpm.

Halloween: We returned form Mesquite just in time to get ready for Halloween. Dvh3 had been begging to be a dragon again this year but his old costume didn't fit and I couldn't find a new one. I had planned on just forcing him into his old costume and making a quick trip around the block, but as luck would have it when I ran Albertson's at 5:30 pm for much needed supplies I found an awesome dragon costume hanging by the check-out. Saved in the nick-of-time. It was a great find since we ran into several neighbor friends and ended up trick-or-treating with them for an hour and a half (and we only did 2 cul-da-sacs). Dvh3 got a ton of candy and I can't give it away fast enough - as of typing this we still have a few pieces, I think they might just go in the garbage.

Dvh3's B-day:As will now be come in our household Halloween is followed closely by dvh3's b-day. We had a little party with friends and he had a great time - although he didn't like sharing his new toys, but what kid does. I backed a train cake as requested and Darren the sweetheart that he is decorated to look like Thomas the Tank engine as requested by Dvh3. We had a great time and there are pictures posted in his 4th Year Album.

Dvh3 doctor visit & flu season: Dvh3 went in for his year doctor visit. He is still running 50% in height & 20-25% in weight (he is still only 29 lbs.) He great for the whole check-up and even watched the nurse stick the needle in his arm without even flinching when he got his flu shot. Such a little trooper. Darren got his flu shot a couple of days later and we all seemed to get a little bit of cold before Mama could get in to get hers. After about 10 days quarantined in the house we all seemed to finally be better - now we just have to wean Dvh3 off the TV.

Painting: We have almost finished decorating our front room (TV room) and finally decided on a paint color. So while self quarantined we decided to take sometime and get some of the walls painted. (Oh and Dad painted the ceiling). It looks so much better and I hope to get a picture of it up soon. We still have the kitchen wall (and thus the kitchen left) but we are getting closer.

Grandpa Vic visits: Dvh3's Grandpa Vic made it up to visit us for a weekend and they had so much fun playing together. We went to the Japanese Gardens which was fun and the boys all went to the park to fly a big Styrofoam airplane. Mama still wasn't feeling very well so she spent most of the weekend with her nose in a book trying to ignore her constant nausea. Dvh3 was very sad to take Grandpa to the airport on Sunday as they had had such a great time.
